The NFL Playoffs have reached the Conference Championships in the sports news and sports on the web. The four remaining teams are all legitimate Super Bowl contenders but only one can be the Super Bowl Champion.
The NFL Playoffs divisional games are now in the books with one surprise as far as Allsports is concerned. I was away with my daughters in Florida for a holiday when the games were on so I did not get the chance to predict the NFL Playoffs outcome of these games. Suffice to say that the only surprise Allsports had with the outcomes was the fact that the Andrew Luck lead Colts took down Patton Manning and the Denver Broncos in the mile high city. Allsports found out after the fact that Manning was injured. Whether or not that made a difference in the game remains to be seen. Allsports thinks that it might just be time for Manning to hang up the cleats because it is starting to look like the old body cannot put up with the rigors of a full NFL schedule, not to mention the NFL Playoffs on top of that.
So now the NFL Playoffs are down to the NFC and AFC Conference Championships. The New England Patriots will host the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC, while the Seattle Seahawks will host the Green Bay Packers in the NFC game.
In the AFC, Andrew Luck and the Colts were impressive winning in Denver last week. Luck got protection and was able to make plays which a banged up Manning and his Broncos teammates could not respond to. This will change in Foxbourgh this week as the Patriots are relatively healthy and Brady seems to be firing on all cylinders. All Tom Brady does is win and Allsports has not seen any indication that he is ready to change that now. It should be a good, close game but Brady will come through in the end and send the Patriots on in the NFL Playoffs to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
In the NFC, the Packers head into enemy territory in Seattle. Aaron Rogers has been banged up a bit in these NFL Playoffs, hobbled by a calf injury. Allsports thinks that the only way the Packers had a chance was with a healthy and mobile Rogers. That is not the case and it looks like Rogers will have a long afternoon trying to run away from the swarming Seahawks defence. Allsports has felt that Seattle has been the best team in the NFL during the second half of the season and if they got home field advantage, they were the team to beat through the NFL Playoffs. Well they got home field and have not shown any indication that they will give up the tittle. Allsports actually thinks and has for a while now that the Russel Wilson lead Sea Hawks are primed to repeat as the Super Bowl Champions.
