Allsports says, Leafs finally out of the Cellar

If your following sports news or sports on the web? Maybe if you are like allsports and follow the Toronto Maple Leafs, you may know that they won their second game of the season last night in Carolina. The Hurricanes have gotten off to an even worse start than the Leafs and last nights game was for which team would get out of the cellar in the National Hockey League standings.

The leafs started the game in the all to familiar manor of getting behind early 2-0. But Ron Wilson must have kicked some verbal ass between the first and second period because the Leafs came out in the second like a different team and tied the game within the first ten minutes of the second period.

The game stayed knotted at two with both Cam Ward and Jonas Gustavsson keeping their teams in it. Blake finally broke the tie with about eight minutes left in the game to give the Leafs a 3-2 lead. Toronto managed to nurse the one goal lead the rest of the way for the victory.

Prized off season Burke signing, Jonas Gustavsson was solid in the Toronto net, stopping something like 36 shots for the win. He has both Toronto wins this year by the way and seems to have taken the number one position away from Vesa Toskala who has been anything but stellar.

It does not get any easier for the Maple Leafs as they play host to the Detroit Red Wings tonight. The Wings should be fired up because Steve Yzerman will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame tonight before the game
