If your looking for sports news on the Toronto Maple Leafs or if you are coming here to use allsports as your source for sports on the web, let me tell you that the Toronto Maple Leafs looked listless and tired last night for the first two periods against a young and disciplined  Phoenix Coyote team. To be frank allsports feels that the Coyotes have been the surprise of the NHL season so far this year. They have a record of 20-12-2 which is great considering all that has happened to them with the Phoenix Fiasco in the off season.

The Leafs did mount a surge in the third period last night but it was too little too late and the Coyotes made off with a 6-3 win. The second period proved to be the Leafs thorn in their collective side as the desert dogs scored four times. This is a good young time with a nice balance of youthful exuberance and veteran leadership. Its just too bad that no one in the desert gives a rats behind to come out and watch. You could be sure that if Hamilton or any other location in Canada had this team the stands would be full every night. So much for Gary’s NHL though.

Two nights earlier the third time was the charm for the Maple Leafs in the battle of Ontario as they beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2. Ottawa had won the two previous meetings by 2-1 and 3-2 scores. Vesa Toskala had a strong game for the Maple Leafs. The Defence stood up well and the forwards were giving them great support enabling them to do so.
